There are moments in our life that our fate  may loosen from our own grip and land in the hands of others.

Imagine being in a hospital bed with a condition that just took a turn for the worse, or trapped under a car after simply crossing the road at the wrong place at the wrong time.

These are  moments others may step in. Their goal is keeping you alive, finding your heartbeat.

The paradox here is that every other moment you don’t find yourself on the verge of losing your life, doesn’t necessarily mean you are ‘alive’.

Sure, technology, expertise and the medial experience of a doctor can locate a heartbeat and help keep you alive. But from there,  it’s up to you to find your own reason to live. To find what makes your heart actually beat. A reason to wake up in the morning. It takes more than a body to get through this life, it takes will.

Oscar Wilde said “To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.”

Positive emotions are the colour of an otherwise grey world. With the limited amount of time we have, I think we all have the right to try to get things looking at bright as can be with whatever artistic ability we have.

Just like art, these positive emotions are highly subjective. So it is up to you to find the beauty in life based on your own tastes and not be influenced by the opinion of others.  Also, as corny as it sounds, don’t settle for just following your heart. Follow its beat and you will know you’re living.

  1. I never really thought of it this way, but I love how you label positive emotions as color to a grey world. It’s that “color” that the subconscious mind sees and uses to add belief to the goal : )

    1. Hi Joedalio,

Thanks for reading and your comment. The subconscious does a lot. It adds color, but unfortunately this includes the dull and darker colors. Eg- people with rather negative outlooks based on past experiences. If we can be aware of this, with the right people, actions, new experiences, we can ‘paint’ over them.

You mentioned goals. What have you got in the works a the moment ?

      1. Your point is excellent and true! Thanks for asking about my goals. My main goal is to create an online business that will enable greater financial and personal freedom. I believe it can happen this year : ) How about you?

        1. That sounds like a difficult but rewarding task. I’m sure it will be about how much you are willing to put in.

A goal this year was to start writing, make some friends etc, and I definitely got that. Next year I would just like to grow my fb page / blog.

I wrote about this in Category ‘The Main Story Line” but ill be working / living overseas in the Pacific Islands, so I want that to be successful experience.
